pgoutput is a native PostgreSQL plugin that uses binary transmission, which should offer better performance.

We currently support wal2json and adding pgoutput isn’t on our roadmap at the moment. It’s a fairly large change that would require some deeper internal work and coordination, so it’s not something we’re planning to take on right now.

Really appreciate you bringing it up and sharing your thoughts!
