I'm hoping that we're getting a new Driverstation program along with SystemCore next year. I'd like to suggest a safety improvement for the design: upon Disabling in Autonomous mode, it would be safer to have the DS switch to teleop mode requiring specific action to switch back to autonomous.
The dangerous scenario that I've seen at least once every year is: test an autonomous routine; carry the robot back to the starting point; decide to adjust the starting point or drive to somewhere else on the field; enable to do so and have the robot do the autonomous routine, which no-one is prepared for. This year we've managed to mostly avoid that by making the callout prior to enabling be "Enabling in ...." including actually looking at the DS display. But that relies on correct human behavior to a larger extent than I'm totally comfortable with when there is a technical improvement available.
