Cannot extract file

Hi,
I just installed dive though Homebrew on my Mac
I tried extracting a file from an image.
I see there is the ^E shortcut to do it... but if I do it nothing happen.

is it actually possibile to extract the file?

I am curious in general how this function is intended to work; (also on a mac) at first when I did the extract it would crash but now I can tell it is doing something for a good 20-~ seconds but then return no actual output that I can see -- where is the viewer intended to be?

Same issue on Windows - Ctrl+E hangs for a bit and nothing happens.
