Definition title attributes can be awkwardly clipped

Looking at https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#cc1, the title attribute for the “conforming alternate version” definition link has the value version that. This is because the rest of the content of that definition is contained in an ol.

Is there any way that this could be made better? Are the titles adding much?

there's already been an initial discussion on removing those titles altogether (as a follow-up to #4857) ... also since they're not keyboard-accessible (while not a deal-breaker ... they only provide an extra "nice to have" arguably ... but i don't actually think anybody relies/uses them)

If there isn't a strong a11y reason for including them then I am all for exploring having them removed. I can see a usability reason as it allows some users to peak at the definition without having to click through. This works fine for definitions which are neatly contained to one sentence. For monster definitions like conforming alternate version this utility is lost.

From a quick read I think this just needs termTitles() to be removed from wcag.js. It would be nice to know why it was put there in the first place but would probably take a fair effort to find out.

Looks like it was added in 2022 in 0bb51c5 (part of #2576). Can’t find the motivation for it though, maybe @michael-n-cooper can remember?
