[Feature] System Prompting Needs tuning

I just realized void hallucinates a lot compared to production grade IDEs like cursor or windsurf. I found a version of cursor's prompt leaked somewhere and I want to share it in the hopes of void's system prompt getting improved. Here it is :

My views on this prompt :

I modified it on my own fork and tried it. It was way better than the default system prompt which caused my model to repeatedly read the same file over 5 times and hallucinate a lot. I believe this system prompt update will make void an awesome coding IDE.

I can confirm, that void performs bad in comparison to cursor using claude4. And it sounds logical to me that the cause is that the system prompt isn’t at the same level like cursor.
Especially with ollama and qwen3 it is practically unusable while with continue dev I can archive decent results.

I forked void for personal use. It has a way better system prompting though. I am willing to share it here.

Mine is optimized for models with lower prompt adherence. Especially reasoning models like azure OpenAI O-series since I have a lot of free azure credits

Copy and paste the above thing in your system prompts and try agent mode. It will feel like cursor. Maybe even better if you use claude or other models. I used jailbroken system prompts of Windsurf, Cursor, Trae and combined the best out of all 3 while keeping it simple enough for locally hosted models like Llama Mixtral etc. Please try it and let me know

This prompt works only for agent mode. I haven't made a prompt for gather or normal mode yet but I can help in making one if the need arises

@andrewpareles using a leaked system prompt is not an option though (both legal and ethical concerns)

there's plenty of public examples that can be abstracted well enough to create Void's own OS system prompt, I think this might be a fair feature request

Well this is just referred from leaked prompts. I heavily modded it so that even simple models can use agentic tools.

Because leaked prompts of windsurf cursor trae etc are similar. I guess we too can have the system prompt similar to theirs
