dot in path

I'm trying out vite for a react app. We have some paths that contain a dot in them as part of the route, and vite is returning a 404 on those.

eg:

Not rewriting GET /tags/v1.1.0 because the path includes a dot (.) character.

Does anyone know a workaround for this? Perhaps a way to specify certain path prefixes that should never attempt to serve a file?
