Improve process for linking to anchors

We're using Umbraco version 17.6.2.

When using the link picker to link to an anchor, you have to know what the anchor is called and manually add it into the 'Anchor or querystring' field (see below). It can take time to find this information and is also open to error.

It would be good if:

• where there are anchors on the page you are editing, Umbraco displays these and gives you the option to select one.
• when you use the content source to find and select a page within your Umbraco site, Umbraco displays the anchors on that page and gives you the option to select one.

We'd need to establish a way to identify an anchor from the document's properties. Currently, the only one I can see working is the RTE, scanning the markup for <a name> (via the Anchor toolbar action) and/or maybe any tags with id attributes. What are your thoughts on this?

Is there a way of scanning the entire page for <a id>? Whilst scanning the RTE would be a good start, we have pages with custom RTEs on them, plus anchor fields for some of the components we have developed.
