Add an option for a search as you type function that will trigger the search after 3 characters and show the search results in a list below the search box. Check how the learn theme from hugo/grav does it.

This will solve some problems problems with the display of the results because you do not need the content area or any other area for it. See bug report from learn theme: typemill-resources/learn#6
