can data be passed to execute-template?

Similar to this example from docs for passing a dictionary of data to a template, can a dict also be passed to execute-template command, something akin to
chezmoi execute-template dict key val key2 val2 < /path/to/my-template?

Reasoning: want to execute template from a run script that outputs result to a destination outside homedir. But there can be potentially n output files, and differing data should be passed in by the caller, hence the question.

That probably won't work, as chezmoi is not reentrant and you'll probably get a lock error.

Maybe if you code your dict inside your template, like this:

{{ $mydict := dict  key val key2 val2 }}
{{ includeTemplate "/path/to/my-template" $mydict }}
