Starting the robots
AMIGO's natural habitat is the TU/e hospital room. In this environment the tutorial and other test must be executed. Please note that the hospital room is used for testing, it is not a storage room! Before starting, the following items (at location) should be acquired:
- AMIGO
- Batteries
- Note: that full batteries must be in an upright position and empty or ''I don't know'' batteries on their side.
- Always make sure when replacing batteries, that you change them one at a time.
- When not testing AMIGO should be connected to the external power supply, which is located at the cabinet in the corner of the room.
- Emergency switches
- Wireless
- Wired (on the PC's at AMIGO's back)
- When AMIGO's hardware is enabled (emergency button released) 1 person is responsible for holding the wireless emergency button. This person must never leave AMIGO unattended.
- DevPC or PC with communication to AMIGO
Both our robots have an alias to launch their basic processes, including the hardware. These are auto-started, but in case: For Amigo, run
amigo-start
The higher level software is depend on the situation, therefore multiple aliassen are available.
amigo-challenge-<tab>
# or
amigo-free-mode
Always run the higher level software on AMIGO2. AMIGO1 is reserved for the hardware and other lower/backend software.
To keep an eye on the batteries and hardware status open a robot dashboard by
adashboard
Keep in mind that need to be connect to the roscore on the robot. The dashboard is also used to for enabling and homing of the hardware.
For starting Sergio, replace the a in the commands with a s.
