One of the main reason Rockbox exists, and is still used to this day, is because it provides an alternative firmware to DAPs (iPods and the like).
Just to clear up confusion: what you are doing has nothing to do with this part of Rockbox mission, right? Rather, you are mostly targeting the (linux) desktop, android, and anything that can run a web browser, correct?
I'm mostly asking because I feel like rockbox could use a lot of modernization (think build process, freetype support/better kerning), and you seem to be heading in that direction, but whether your work also benefits those running Rockbox on their DAP is currently unclear.
