Transitioning from BirdNET-Pi – Is Birdnet-Go the Best Alternative?

Hi!
I'm currently running a rather old installation of BirdNET-Pi and have been a bit sad that it's no longer being updated. But by chance, I stumbled upon Birdnet-Go :).

Is Birdnet-Go the best successor, or are there other good alternatives out there?
I also haven’t been able to find any information or questions about whether it's possible to upgrade an old BirdNET installation and keep using the data from it.

Keeping all my past observations is very important to me — is that even possible?

Yes it is possible to convert BirdNET-Pi data to BirdNET-Go using https://github.com/tphakala/birdnet-pi2go utility I built. Please backup your BirdNET-Pi data well before attempting conversion.

If you want to see a live demo of BirdNET-Go I have one here https://mokki.pobox.fi/, there are some things locked behind authentication like Settings and detection review functions, but all read only operations are available. BirdNET-Go is still very much work in progress and some things like statistics are still missing.
