Steps to reproduce

The text in notifications shows HTML entities or HTML code itself.

I've got you some screenshots:

And I think that the issue is connected with #8471 and #9639.

Expected behavior

The text in the preview should be clean and without HTML.

Actual behavior

The text contains a lot of garbage.

Came here to report this. Thunderbird 14.0, Redmi 13, Android 15.

The issue here is caused by Thunderbird/K9 grabbing the e-mail's HTML as plain text for preview and then displaying it.

‌ is just an HTML formatted space that cannot cause a new line. many e-mails use it to separate the e-mails preview from the rest of the body. the mail sender intended this to be hidden from the reader. This supposedly should be and EoL for the mail client to stop reading further actually when parsing previews...

this bug has existed since forever and yeah it would be nice to see it fixed. not only does it confuse new users but it also makes Notifications use a lot of unnecessary screen space where other notifications could be displayed instead (when it's just one mail like here)
