There is actually nothing wrong here. It's just a missing feature.
Xaeros (Mini-)Map currently doesn't have a good way for me to also synchronize the actual chunks without risking a crash or corrupted map files.
It's by far the most requested feature. And I also really want to have it. But I don't know when / if I will be able to implement it.
(In case there is a confusion: With "Area Marker" I mean those overlays on some web-maps; like claimed areas or sth...)

In case sb is reading this: 4.4.0 adds Bluemap tile conversion support; other maps in future updates :)
