[Bug]: Crated and other connected textures are appearing black and not showing.

Bug Description

Some blocks are not rendering properly, and testing it appears to be the ones that shouls connect. I have the mod installed in a 1.21 modpack I made, and the only possible suspect I had was Continuity, but I tried disabling it and the issue was still happening.

Have you figured anything else out since this initial post? I've noticed this issue still in version 4.0.2 of chipped (mc 1.21.1) and I have had no luck finding anything, I even loaded it in its own instance with just the dependencies but nothing I've tried has worked. I do have a theory that there's a () argument instead of {} or a comma is in the wrong place etc. but I know this issue has something to do with the ETF (Entity Texture Features mod) settings not recognizing these certain connected texture blocks because everything else works just not the connected textures. I don't know if you will check this post since it was December of last year but I hope that if you see this that this comment helps in some form. Either way I will be looking into it as I love these block designs but for some reason they just don't work!!

Chipped uses Athena for its CTM not continuity. Athena's fall back is invisible if it can't load so I suspect there is something else happening as Athena for fabric almost all the rendering is handled by fabric not Athena itself. If you can provide some more info by doing /rlib info in-game and pasting it here that'd be great

I was also going to include a full mods list but I tested this in an instance with only the required mods to see if it is recreated by only the needed mods and still I had black bordered blocks. So even with this mod list blocks aren't rendering.

My best guess is that the mod's textures have library issues because all the normal textures work like they should but the only textures that break are ones in the CTM folders in the mod. So I don't know if those details help but I like this mod and want to use these textures. Let me know if you need anything else (p.s. I'm not posting hardware specs or anything online, my hardware isn't the problem.)

Update

I think I found something useful, according to this guide, compact CTM which is what Chipped uses, requires at least 5 png's in your tile set; and when searching through each of these CTM folders, I found that many of them only have 3 images. Could it be that the pack is missing the proper tiles for a complete texture and that it defaults to black instead of using a half finished texture? Just spit balling but I thought it was important to note.

Take for example Simple Amethyst Pillar, it has everything that's required from Athena, the only difference is that it never uses texture 2, and has its own model rather than using block/air, and is declared after the textures?

This is all great information, thank you for looking into it this far! I will try and add this custom argument to the json file and see of that changes anything or if any other custom lines of code or extras are needed (5 texture files etc) and post my results in this thread when I have some answers!
