RAM Booster for 16.04

I'm a big fan of RAM Booster and the simplicity it offers in making boot-to-ram images. Ubuntu 16.04 is now out and I was wondering if RAM Booster would be re-factored. Looking forward to an update.

I'm afraid that I no longer have the time necessary to keep this project up to date. My current job takes up nearly 100% of my time.
Not only have many things changed since the previous version of Ubuntu that this worked on, which would require lots of research, coding, and beta testing, but I also have not used Ubuntu in probably over 5 years, and have not used this code on a regular basis for probably 6 years (I kept writing it without actually using it). It's probably best if the developer of a project actually use the code he's developing, so he can notice bugs and fix them.
I tried to find someone to take over the project a while ago, and had someone that was interested, but unfortunately they had no coding experience.

16.04 works fine for me.
except that it thinks I'm in a chroot for some reason.
The 14.10 script works fine.

your chroot check statement in rupdate.... Where is this command supposed to be run. from within the RAM-Disk of not. when I run youe line check independantly
ls -di / | cut -d ' ' -f 1 My Return value is 10738. The only location I get an ID of 2 is on the mount for the USB drive where the host OS is located.

Do I need to run the script from the original OS?

The rupdate script itself is a script that runs in the RAM Session (RAM-Disk).

The fact that you're probably not using Ubuntu 14.10 means that check likely no longer works.
If I remember right, it prevents people from running "rchroot", and then running "rupdate" from within that.
If the check is giving you problems under normal conditions (if you're not trying to run rupdate from within the rchroot environment), edit the rupdate script and delete those lines (line 35 - 44).

edit: Also, why are you not using Ubuntu anymore, @terminator14 ? What are you using?

@vmsantos OSX at work, Fedora as workstation for home, CentOS for servers. Ubuntu was awesome for starting out with, but when they started sending your desktop search queries to Amazon, and came out with Unity, I stopped using it.

I spent a few weeks using Unity hoping to get used to it when it first came out - never did.
