Is it still supported?

I am comparing between https://mailboxlayer.com/ and this API. I understood that the only major difference is catch-all. (Sorry, I am not noob)

Further I debugged to found that there is already a corresponding pull request: #43 that was created months back.

Pull requests are not approved. Is it still actively supported by Community? In your opinion which one is better (MailBoxLayer or validate_email)?

@rohitmanglik I'm using Mailbox Layer and I think their support is not fast as it should be.

However, I want to create my own solution so I came here. The principle is very simple.

• Check MX records
• Connect via telnet and check if email exists

The problem can be with getting blacklisted. I'm still not sure how to handle this at all. One of the solutions can be using a proxy.

There's a huge difference. If you buy a subscription at Mailboxlayer, you won't need to worry about getting blacklisted. However, their support isn't fast as it should be.

On the other side, if you use libraries like this, you'll need to worry about getting blacklisted and it might be tricky. Depending on your requirements (number of requests) I think a better choice is buying a subscription.

There are other services as well. Mailboxlayer isn't the only. If you have an enormously huge number of verifies, then you should think about creating a custom solution.
