Automated nightly and/or beta releases

We could have automated nightly and/or beta releases so users can check/verify the newest stuff easier, before a release.

Describe the solution you'd like
A beta release every few days or every week with all/most things in main.
Perhaps also an automated nightly release every "night"?

Describe alternatives you've considered
I could manually compile and install the main branch, and i know it's not even hard. But still, it's an extra step. Discourages most users out of beta testing.

Additional context
I've filed a lot of issues recently and the maintainers have been very responsive and have resolved a bunch of them (Thanks!). It would be nice for me to be able to easily check out the changes and perhaps file more bug-report / feature-requests.

#1450 added a pre-release build to our nightly CI. We still need a way to automate publishing it to the marketplace.

You can download the pre-release VSIX from nightly CI runs.

Pre-release version 2.1.20250321 has just been published to the marketplace. It contains all fixes and features up to 8a0a18c.

Until we have an automated publishing job we're going to be manually publishing pre-release builds to the marketplace. Not sure what the cadence will look like on this yet.
