There should be some kind of loading indicator or something when someone tries to run a test but the extension needs to build the app first.
Right now it does show the building status in the bottom bar but it could be more prominent.
For example the test button itself could indicate this after the user clicks it.

@MahdiBM is setting the "swift.showBuildStatus" setting to "notification" help?

@award999 that's an improvement, using the "notification" build-status mode. I'd like to have more of that, e.g. for "loading package plugins" which seems to take ages.
