The debug tutorial says:
NOTE: if you are still viewing me when I am salvaged, you will be in for a surprise! If this happens just type
view baseto return to viewing your base.
However, if this actually happens, there is no way to see the log anymore, and the user might have forgotten the view base command that was mentioned. There are a few related things I think we can do here:
- We ought to mention the command
view base(+ the keyboard shortcut) in the original instructions that tell you toview it0. - We should give an achievement for seeing static (when a robot you are
viewing either dies or goes out of range) - When static happens (at least the first time, or possibly every time) the UI should somehow remind the player how to get back to viewing their base. Possibly related: Display
no connectionwhen theviewed robot is out of range #1144 .
