Currently this extension cannot be used at github.dev but would be very valuable there.

Hi @tobi, thanks for the idea. 👍

Runtime difference is significant between web and node.js, so scope might be not the smallest to implement this feature.

If there are contributors willing to look into this issue the first steps could be:

make fs and path import compatible with web runtime
introduce compatible build (webpack + web main file)
ensure tests work for web runtime
