Activity visibility

I don't know if someone is active and other people can't see a I'm active.

I would like having something like sign that would show only if the person is active or has switched on activity reports for IG.

Currently if the other person reads the text when you're in the chat you will get a in-chat message. That is similar to "just read" in Instagram app. There might be a similar MQTT / realtime event about activity status or typing indicator that we can leverage. Anyone interested can have a look at the instagram MQTT library we use, there might be some relevant discussion in #156.

I’ve been working for 3-4 days to add 'user activity status' and 'typing status' features to the app.

Implementing the 'typing' indicator was quick—you can see how it looks in the video. After that, I wanted to add activity info (like 'Online' or 'Active 3 hours ago') next to the username in the status-bar.tsx component. However, despite trying everything, no text is appearing.

I checked both console.error and this.logger.info to see if the data was reaching the logs, but I’m getting nothing there either. I’m sharing the code for the activity status below, but it's just not working.I've hit a dead end with the activity status.

That's great, I don't think we ever found a way to get information about last active time lol (cc @endernoke). For typing indicator, perhaps it would be more clear to show "who" is typing rather than just an animation? Like "@username is typing..." when you receive the event would just be enough?

The animation is currently visible inside the chat UI. Do you think we should place the typing indicator near the status bar, or do you have another logic in mind?

I meant could we replace the animation with just a text of "@username is typing" since it is more helpful to know who is typing right?
