I made a deliberate choice to keep the core of Toolport free, open source (MIT), and local-first: no cloud account, no telemetry, no upsell sitting in the path of your tool calls. The layer that routes your credentials and your prompts should be software you run, not a service you have to trust.

There's a paid Teams tier for companies that need governance, and I'm glad it exists, but it will never fund all the unglamorous work the free side needs: code signing certificates, CI, testing across three platforms, and the hours that go into features every individual user gets for nothing. That's what sponsorship covers. It's the difference between the free core being a funnel and being a product I can keep taking seriously in its own right.
