Karol (@szoltysek)
Founder & Lead Explorer
Karol is an Engineering Student at the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) and a low-level systems enthusiast. He specializes in Linux kernel mainlining, high-performance virtualization, and exploring the architectural purity of Unix/BSD systems.
His mission with Terminal-Index is to eliminate software barriers and bring modern desktop experiences to unconventional hardware.
Tip
Open for Collaboration: Karol is always looking for interesting projects and partnerships in the systems space.
π οΈ Key Projects
π VFIO GPU Passthrough
The "2-in-1" System Implementation. A single-script automation for near-native Windows performance inside Linux. No reboots, zero latency, pure performance.
π± Sony Xperia 5 II Mainline
An engineering journey to bring the Mainline Linux Kernel to the Sony Xperia 5 II (pdx206). Focused on mobile hardware independence and modern kernel standards.
π¨ NVIDIA Optimus on Wayland
Achieving a fluid, tear-free desktop experience on hybrid graphics. Documentation and tools for the modern Linux desktop user.
β Why Sponsor?
Your support directly impacts the development of these open-source tools. Sponsorship helps with:
- π¬ Research & Development: Testing complex virtualization setups and kernel patches.
- β‘ Hardware Prototyping: Acquiring devices and components for mainline exploration.
- π The Energy Source: Fueling the long nights of debugging and coding (yes, energy drinks included!).
"We don't just use Linux - we explore its every boundary."
