Hi, I'm Kilian (lusoris).

I maintain VMAFx, an open-source successor to the VMAF video quality metric. It scores video on CPU and on CUDA, SYCL, HIP and Metal GPUs, with GPU results checked against the CPU reference. It has a new C API with Rust, Go and Python bindings, FFmpeg and GStreamer integration, and a cloud-native scoring platform, and it is working towards its 1.0 release.

VMAFx is built and governed with cordanaLLM, my AI-engineering stack: praetor (repository governance and agent standards), tribunus (agent runtime) and Aegis OS (image-based Linux). The golusoris frameworks for Go and SvelteKit and the JellySin plugins for Jellyfin come from the same work.

To be honest about where things stand: most of these projects are still work in progress. They feed each other: VMAFx is the proving ground for the tooling, and better tooling makes VMAFx faster to build and easier to trust. Sponsorship speeds up that loop for all of them.

What sponsorship pays for

  • CI time for the Linux, Windows and macOS build and test matrix
  • Cloud GPU time on hardware I don't own, to test every GPU backend against the CPU reference
  • A state-of-the-art AI workstation for model training, local agents and benchmarks

Every sponsor is thanked publicly by tier. There are no paywalls, no paid support and no feature voting; everything stays open source.

First goal: $250 a month covers the CI matrix (Linux, Windows, macOS) and regular cloud GPU test runs on hardware I don't own, so every GPU backend keeps being checked against the CPU reference. Next goal after this one: a state-of-the-art AI workstation for model training, local agents and benchmarks.

Featured work

  1. VMAFx/vmafx

VMAFx: perceptual video quality assessment (VMAF), GPU-accelerated and SIMD-tuned. CUDA, SYCL, HIP and Metal backends checked against the CPU scores, AVX2/AVX-512/NEON, tiny-AI models, an MCP serve…

    Python 6
  2. cordanaLLM/Aegis-OS

Aegis OS: sovereign, image-based Linux; components are activated one at a time against recorded evidence; Praetor-governed. No product image, hardware boot or release yet.

    Rust
  3. golusoris/golusoris

Composable Go framework — opt-in fx modules for everything a production backend needs (config, log, db, http, otel, jobs, cache, auth, k8s, ...).

    Go
  4. golusoris/sveltesentio

Composable SvelteKit framework — opt-in modules, Svelte 5 runes, production-grade

    TypeScript
  5. cordanaLLM/praetor

Enterprise Fleet Governance, Repository-as-Code & Universal AI Agent Engineering Engine
