Update failed

Hi there,

I copied the executable from one directory to another, popped Duckle open and the update prompt appeared. It constantly asks for update even if it's the latest version.

I hit update and I get the followwing error:

• Duckle version Latest. downloaded on the 7th of July 2026.
• Windows Server 2025

Thanks, the checksum in the error was the giveaway.

When we rebuild the binaries on a release, a separate step regenerates SHA256SUMS.txt. If one of the six platform builds failed, that step got skipped, so the checksum file went stale against the freshly re-uploaded windows binary and the updater (correctly) refused to install something that didn't match.

Fixed the release job so the checksums are always regenerated to match whatever is actually published, and re-rolled v0.5.4. I verified all six now line up. The "keeps asking to update" part is expected while we re-roll the same version - once the update actually installs (it will now), it settles down.

Grab the latest v0.5.4 and the in-app update should go through. Let me know if it still trips.
