# The purpose of this document is to provide information for people who:
#
# - want to know if Subversion works on a particular platform
# - are interested in porting Subversion to a particular platform
#
# Entries should look something like this:
#
# arch-company-os:
# Client: Build OK, Check OK.
# Filesystem: Failed due to something something
# Last Check: 17 Feb 2001, revision 1729
# Tester: J. Random Hacker <[email protected]>
# Notes:
# -- Still cannot build with --wapcapplet-enabled
# -- The dependency on the wanglethorpe is really making things
# unreasonably hard here. I'm going to try to link against the
# frobnicator to see if I can't get the filesystem to
# build. -J. Random
#
# To discover your canonical host triplet, run ac-helpers/config.guess
# after autogen.sh. If you can't discover a canonical host triplet,
# or for some reason it's not applicable, you can just say something
# like "RedHat Linux 7.2 (intel) 2.4.9-13 kernel".

Notes:
-- Garrett says: "you have to give it --disable-shared or it
errors out while building neon". Benjamin Reed followed up, see
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=59618&listName=dev
offering a Neon fix; then Joe Orton followed up saying that
latest libtool may take care of this for us, see
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=59622&listName=dev
-- These comments from Brian Fitzpatrick <[email protected]> regarding
some older builds may also still apply:
+ haven't tried to build apr with dso enabled.
+ haven't gotten around to building the svn server either.
+ needs autoconf 2.52 (get from GNU)
+ needs libtool 1.4.2 (get from Darwin CVS repository)

-- Perry says: NetBSD seems to fine. You need to install gnu
patch to make it work, of course. (A number of us are now
talking seriously about fixing up the NetBSD patch to support
the gnu patch features needed by subversion.)

Solaris 2.6:
Client: Build OK
Filesystem: ?
Last Check: 15 February 2002, revision 1302
Tester: [email protected]
Notes:
-- gcc 2.95.2
-- failed to check out a working copy, but think this may be due
to running "svn checkout URL -d ../path". Perhaps the ".." in
the target stimulated a universal Subversion bug, i.e., has
nothing to do with it being Solaris 2.6. Have asked Sam
Cooper to try it without ".." and let us know what happens.
If it is what we think it is, then will file as a separate
Subversion issue.
