Background:
ROG Ally's Armoury crate maintains 4(or maybe 6) Windows Power Plans, the typical windows power plans times two(or three) for AC/DC and Turbo/LimitedTurbo. The latter set depends on whether the ALLY is getting >65W or <65W. The limited-Turbo profile might be the same as DC profile power plans not sure.
When >65W is the power supply, fPPT in Armoury crate shows 53W as max, SPL as 30/35W depending on ALLY X or first ALLY.
When <65W is the power supply, max fppt and SPL shows lower values, I want to say 42W/35W/25W but don't recall exact numbers.
G-helper I assume makes no such distinctions which is fine as it is.
Why care?
Different PD3.1 and similar multiport chargers or powerbanks have varying power switching negotiation logic and might be providing lesser than expected power at times to the Ally. Replacing Armoury Crate with Ghelper no longer makes the present input wattage known in any form.
For example,
My UGREEN 200W multiport charger can provide 65W to 200W in one of it's two primary ports.
But a docked handheld setup that will use a Dock in between will most certainly require >87.6W or >=100W input power to ensure proper 65W allocation going to the handheld/laptop. So the charger itself should not be delivering 65W but 100W from it's port when a Dock is inbetween to power the Ally
Problem: Various times renegotiation inside the charger does not take place even after other devices are disconnected from the charger on other ports, until the loose cables are also removed.
Example 2: In my older anker powerbank, renegotiation doesn't even take place until AC input from electric board is turned OFF and ON
Idea: It would be useful to know if handheld/laptop is getting it's preferable input wattage or not
