Command parsing

Current code is going to be time-consuming to maintain. Maybe consider switching to a library for parsing arguments? For example, [`argparse`](https://docs.python.org/3/library/argparse.html) or [`click`](http://click.pocoo.org/). This will also help with Windows support.
