Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

We are committed to making participation in the AI Native Lang (AINL) project a respectful, constructive, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of background, identity, experience level, role, or contributor type, including human and AI-assisted collaboration workflows.

We want AI Native Lang to be a project where people can contribute ideas, code, research, feedback, and criticism in good faith without being subjected to hostility, intimidation, or abuse.

Expected Behavior

Examples of behavior that help create a positive environment include:

  • Being respectful and constructive
  • Assuming good intent where reasonable
  • Asking clarifying questions before escalating disagreement
  • Focusing on ideas, evidence, tradeoffs, and outcomes
  • Giving actionable feedback
  • Documenting decisions so others can follow the reasoning
  • Respecting project scope, maintainer time, and contributor effort

Unacceptable Behavior

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Harassment, intimidation, threats, or discrimination
  • Personal attacks, insults, or sustained hostile behavior
  • Trolling, baiting, or deliberately inflammatory conduct
  • Sharing private, personal, or confidential information without permission
  • Bad-faith misrepresentation of another person’s work or intent
  • Disruptive behavior that materially harms collaboration or participation
  • Repeated boundary violations after warning

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to project spaces and project-related interactions, including:

  • Issues
  • Pull requests
  • Discussions
  • Documentation and review threads
  • Chat or community spaces officially associated with the project
  • Public or private communication that is reasonably connected to project collaboration

Maintainer Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for interpreting and enforcing this Code of Conduct in good faith.

Maintainers may take any action they deem appropriate and proportionate in response to behavior that violates this policy, including:

  • Requesting a change in behavior
  • Editing, hiding, locking, or removing content
  • Rejecting contributions
  • Temporarily restricting participation
  • Permanently excluding individuals from project spaces

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that may violate this Code of Conduct, please report it privately to:

  • Project maintainers via a private channel if available in repository settings (for example, maintainers' contact details in Discussions/About).
  • If no private channel is available, open a minimal issue requesting private maintainer contact without posting sensitive details.

Please include, where practical:

  • What happened
  • Where and when it happened
  • Who was involved
  • Relevant links, screenshots, or logs
  • Any additional context that may help review the situation

Response Principles

Reports will be reviewed in good faith and handled as promptly and confidentially as reasonably possible.

Maintainers will aim to:

  • Protect affected participants
  • Evaluate context fairly
  • Minimize unnecessary disclosure
  • Respond proportionately
  • Preserve the project’s ability to function productively

Enforcement

Consequences for unacceptable behavior may include:

  • Informal warning
  • Formal warning
  • Content removal
  • Temporary suspension from participation
  • Permanent ban from some or all project spaces

Severe or repeated violations are more likely to result in stronger enforcement.

Project Discretion

Participation in this project is at maintainer discretion. Contributions, comments, issues, and pull requests may be declined or moderated to preserve project quality, safety, direction, and community health.
