One-page link without printing pop-up

Currently, the only way I could find of getting the whole book on a single page is using the printing icon that's hidden in the top-right corner in a low-contrast color.

However, even with this icon, I get a pop-up asking me to print the page (well, that's what I asked for, but…).

Would it be possible to add a (preferentially easily-visible) link to the one-page book? Either that or add a search functionality (which would be an anti-feature if I understood correctly the fact that mdBook is designed to output static HTML).

Anyway, thanks for having already managed to do all that!

If you use the latest version of MDBook there is built-in search functionality.

That's still using the old MDBook. Try the nightly: https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/book/second-edition/

We also encountered this in rust-lang/rustc-dev-guide#118. My comment from there:

Yep, it looks like a bug in mdbook. When you go to the print page it'll show the entire book concatenated, but then when I hit ctrl+p to go to the print preview Chrome says it'll only print one page.

We've been making a couple changes to CSS lately to make the search box render nicely. My bet is that's then interfering with what the browser prints, making it think the page contents is made up of just the visible stuff.
