Steps to reproduce:
1) Simply run the program on x86_64 Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS.

What happens:
The program shows the GUI with painfully slow progress for reading the
dictionary, then stops responding with message:
"Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x26262)!"

This is weird. Shouldn't python be universal?
