Hi, thank you for the project.
Several people reported they had non-working keys vol+/-, enter, power, - while using the remote over bluetooth instead of official ps3 bd remote. Are these keys able to work at all over bluetooth?

Some keys are unavailable in the VP3700's Bluetooth mode.

Keys that are unusable in Bluetooth mode

These keys send nothing when pressed

  • CH +
  • CH -
  • EXIT
  • Numpad * (-)
  • Numpad # (INPUT)
  • PREV
  • REC

Volume keys

You can use these keys in Bluetooth mode, but they will send an IR signal to your Sound Master. More info in the manual.

  • MUTE
  • VOL +
  • VOL -

Power

Not working with this project.

The button simulates the keypresses that power down the PS3, because the PS3 controller/remote has no power button. If it were really necessary, I'd take another look at properly handling this sequence, but for now if you press it, the host will handle each simulated keypress individually.

Thanks a lot.
What about hibernation? Does this remote need to be hibernated from host
side to save batteries, as in case with official ps3 bd remote?

The remote disconnects after being idle for a little while (~10 minutes?) and reconnects when a button is pressed, but I'm not sure exactly what's happening. I'll look into it, because I'm kind of curious myself.

Based on past experience with this remote, though, my first guess is that the remote handles that stuff.

Wow, it's a very good news if so: ps3 bd remote have some issues with
hibernation from PC, whereas it works properly with PlayStation. As far as
I know, no one have been able to reimplement this nonstandard behavior so
far for PC..
Your experience makes me impatient to try out Snakebyte PS3 Blu-mote - it
would be perfect remote if it didn't have all these hibernation headache..

Hi, some more info, sorry for off-topic:
in the result I ordered Snakebyte PS3 Blu-mote, reviewer sed it does hibernation better than original Sony PS3 BD Remote: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00519BF18/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hope it will fulfill my expectations. If there is interest, I'll report here about results when it comes.
