A few questions

Interested in using this on my Porsche 996 C4 with 722.6 tiptronic.

What's the timeline for releasing the gerbers?

The current TCU uses an 88 pin connector. Thoughts on either a breakout board/adapter or an alternate board design with the 88 pin connector footprint added to the PCB?

Hi!

To answer the first point, we currently don't have a release date for the gerbers yet, I am working on board design V2 which needs testing (It supports the non-CAN shifter and improves noise suppression of the original board)

Second point. As far as I know, the 722.6 ONLY comes with a 32 pin ECU connector, regardless of OEM (Dodge, Jeep and Mercedes all use the same Simens TCM for this gearbox), so hearing you have an 88 pin one is bizarre! Can you take a photo of your TCM, including part numbers if possible?

I believe its a Bosch TCM with a standard Motronic connector. The upshift/downshift switches connect to the TCM and the gear position is relayed back to the gauge cluster via CAN.

Hi, I do believe the tiptronic gearbox you are on about is NOT the 722.6, rather a ZF gearbox with a Bosch TCU.

That means this project does not support your car unfortunately...

I'm certain its a 722.6 as its a 2003 with a 3.6L motor. ZF versions only shipped with 3.4L motors. There are Mercedes logos in the castings.

Well then you have certainly found the wrong ECU. 722.6 ONLY ever comes with a Simens ECU, no other vendor makes the TCM for it, no matter the vehicle.

Actually, one thing you could potentially do is to check the transmission plug style. It is possible that they have put the internals of the ZF box in the 722.6 casing (Or a common casing). The plug should be able to verify what box you have.

As per what you sent, the ZF box should have a connector like this:

Heres's a photo of the transmission when I had the motor out of the car. On the side it clearly says Mercedes Benz.

Thats the standard 722.6 connector just above and slightly left of the half-shaft flange. With the off-white/yellowed plastic ring around it. I don't know anything about the "Tiptronic" other than it did use a 722.6 but it drives it in a semi-auto way. So it could possibly have a different TCU than the Siemens. Can you trace that piece of loom back to the TCU in the car?

Worst case you could splice in a piece of Mercedes loom with the Siemens TCU connector on it. But then it may not communicate on CAN the same way as your alleged Bosch TCU. So it could be a CAN of worms getting this TCU to work.

Hello. I own an old w124 with OM606 turbodiesel with mechanical IP. Currently installed 722.6 on the Ole Fejer controller (with egs 51 non can shifter). I really want to try your controller for some reasons, if is it possible to add an analog input for signals of engine speed, throttle position, temperature? As i can see, there is free IO 1_3-IO1_7 GPIO Expander inputs, or it for discret signal and esp32 have free gpio too? I can make the PCB myself.
My car has abs (esp) W203 the same like crossfire, W209, with egs52 layer, but not connected by CAN, only abs function. Is it possible to also add an engine identifier to CAN for ESP operation?
