better display of recent files

I wonder if there is a better way to display recent files, like for youtube's urls show the title along with the url ? or replace url altogether ? how could one retreive the original url ? not sure what's practical there but I feel like the menu could be at minimum wider to show the full urls ?

The frustrating thing is that each Qt style and sometimes platform displays menus differently. On org.kde.breeze, menus expand to fit their content, but on FluentWinUI3 they are fixed-width. It seems like there's a similar problem for whatever style you're using (probably Fusion). Maybe recents should be an integrated UI element rather than a menu. I'll look into it.

Recent-file display usually needs both a stable sort key and duplicate handling. A useful improvement would store the last-opened timestamp separately from the file path and collapse entries that differ only by case or normalized path on case-insensitive platforms. That would make the list more predictable after files are reopened, moved, or opened through symlinks/shortcuts.
