Hello everyone! 👋

We are thrilled to announce the release of RevoGrid version 4! After more than two years of dedicated work, we are finally here. We initially planned to release it a year ago, but our focus on the RevoSheets project delayed our timeline. Nevertheless, we are bringing you this major update with a host of new features, improvements, and breaking changes.

🚨 Breaking Changes

Redesigned Type Support

• Removed Deprecated Namespaces:
  • Before: RevoGrid.ColumnDataSchemaRegular
  • Now: ColumnDataSchemaRegular
• Improved Type Import:
  • Before: import { RevoGrid } from '@revolist/revogrid/dist/types/interfaces'
  • Now: import { ColumnDataSchemaRegular } from '@revolist/revogrid'
• Changed Viewport Type Names:
  • Before: rowDefinitions: [{ type: "row", index: 0, size: 145 }]
  • After: rowDefinitions: [{ type: "rgRow", index: 0, size: 145 }]

Updated Event Naming Convention

• All event names are now lowercase and follow modern naming conventions.
• For example, afterEdit -> afteredit.
• Review your event usage.

🌟 Major Improvements

• Rethought Framework Approach: Introduced Pro version with advanced support and pro features.
• Slot Support: Added support for slots to enhance flexibility.
• Updated Scrolling System: Improved scrolling for better mobile support.
• Advanced Template Support: Introduced additionalData for templates and editors. The prop gives access to the parent/root app context.
• Redesigned Documentation: Comprehensive and updated documentation.
• Performance Enhancements: Fixed major issues and significantly improved overall performance, making the grid multiple times faster.
• Enhanced Plugin Support: Now with full access to grid providers.
• Full Framework Support:
  • Native render support for Angular, React Vue and Svelte.
