Copying files within MTP context freezes

Sometimes when I am copying files from one folder to another on the SD card over MTP with Ubuntu 18.04 the MTP connection just freezes on Ubuntu and I have to close out mtp-server-nx to get out of it. Unsure of exact causes or specific ways to reproduce yet.
