rewrite the lib from scratch

The current library appears to have structural and coding issues. Initially, we prioritized speed in development and testing, so we used the available library and adapted it to work with Embedded Linux. However, while adding SPI support, I noticed that the code is disorganized and difficult to read. Eventually, we will need to reconstruct the library from scratch
