My team has found uv to be our preferred tool for managing python. It uses a slightly different context for packages using uv.lock instead of poetry.lock but still uses pyproject.toml just in a different spot under project.dependencies instead of under tool.poetry.dependencies

Thanks for the suggestion. uv has been on my radar for a while now but I have yet to use it for much. Please keep in mind that it may be a while before this feature is implemented unless someone contributes the majority of the work.

Until this is implemented, you can export the locked dependencies to a requirements.txt file as a workaround. This is the same thing the hook would be doing. I've used pre-commit to do something similar for another tool that did not support poetry. There is a section of uv's docs for Using uv in pre-commit which should give you an idea of how to set it up.
