The sofoconvention will get an update soon after which the verification of sofar should be improved:

Make sure that all possible shapes that a sofa variable can have are of the same dimension (verification for convention)
Check the format of the date string
Raise a warning if attributes contain empty strings, maybe even an error for writing?
