Hi @guykoy123, Apologies, I missed this message when you posted it. Were you able to resolve your issue? @alustig3 implemented the API functionallity so is probably better placed to help with this than I am. |

Hello everyone,
I am currently working on an experiment where a mouse is presented with a stimulus to its' whiskers and then has to lick either lickometer 1 or 2 based on the presented stimulus, that worked great when i tried to introduce a bias detection system to see if the mouse is overwhelmingly licking only one lickometer i ran into a storage issue so i decided to offload the code to an api that will detect bias and generate a set of stimuli to counter it
I ran into two problems:
Event and state detection
I try to initialize a few variables on the first trial but i can't detect it since there need to be four conditions:
state = "start_trial"event = "start_trial_event"(it looks like a duplicate of the first but it's protection to give the user the ability to turn on all external systems that need to run)v.finished_startup___=Falsev.trial_counter___=0Once these conditions are met i need to set a couple of variable based on other variables that i am not sure how to access.
The problem here is since the user manualy triggers "start_trial_event" what i see when i run the task is that the api detects start_trial state but by the time process_data_user is called again after the event being triggered it has already moved to the next state (and the variables i check also don't show up)
Reading from variable that havn't been changed
From what i could gather in
process_data_user(self,data)data only shows recently changed variables but if i need to access some variable that doesn't change during runtime how do i do it?task code
api class i have so far
