cant clone a repo

when want to clone my repo i get this error

That warning (no version information available) is normal, you can safely ignore it.

Is there any other message in the error popup?
Can you attach a video and/or the app logs? If i remember correctly, you can open the directory by going to "Help > Open log file location", or something similar.

i get this error and it doesn't clone i tried using git in terminal it worked and used shiftkey's fork and it worked with no problem

The real error is the connection timeout.
That's strange, I've tried cloning this same repo and it works fine on my machine.

Are you on a VPN or some kind of proxy that could be interferring with the cloning?

Does the timeout occur only when cloning this repo (https://github.com/ArmanDarkknight/downloader.git), or does it occur when cloning any repo?

Also, does the timeout occur only when cloning? Or also when pulling/pushing in the app?

it has this problem with my private repos too but when i use git in terminal it works fine or even using the command the app is trying to use git -c init.defaultBranch=main clone --recursive --progress -- https://github.com/ArmanDarkknight/downloader.git /home/arman/Projects/Godot/downloader works in terminal but not in the app and no i'm not using any dns proxy or vpn

no its stuck in fetching origin and cant pull or push but in Shiftkey's fork of github desktop it works and i even tried using the app image version still didnt work

Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce this timeout. You could try one of the following:

• Add an SSH key to your GitHub account, clone the repo using SSH (from the terminal) and add it to Desktop Plus. Check if push/pull works in the app when using SSH.
• If you have access to a Windows or macOS machine, check if the app works there.
• Try to bisect which release introduced the bug: start with the first and the last release, and check the one in the mid point to see if works or not. Repeat this step until you find the release that introduces the bug.

tried it on windows worked with no problem

version 3.5.0 and before work fine but anything after v3.5.0 doesn't clone push or pull or fetch the origin but all of the latest versions work fine on windows

Yes, I'm facing this problem too. I have a pretty good idea of the reason why this is happening, I'll let you know once you can try again.

@ArmanDarkknight Please try again, it should no longer fail with 'remote-https' is not a git command.
However, if you were encountering timeouts in the -bin version, the -git version will probably have the same problem.

i dont get that error but i still get timed out
