It would be useful to provide official Debian packages (.deb) for each release, similar to the existing Windows and macOS installers. This would simplify installation for Debian and Ubuntu users who want the latest stable version without compiling from source. . actuel version in debian packages is 4.3.1

Well first if you latest version is 4.3.1 than you should update your debian version instead, the latest stable release ships 5.4.2

If you want newer packages in debian you can also use testing/sid

As for proving package upstream we have little interest in taking on all that maintenance load ourselves, anyone can package/compile, it it does not need to be an upstream maintainer. A single podman.deb as part of an upstream release will not be useful at all, we have huge dependency chains that all would need to be packaged as well.
