History loading causing velopark theme to be slow

If you check the network tab in devtools while opening a node of velopark, it seems to load a bunch of history calls from the osm api before even requesting the velopark api. Why is this?

This is especially problematic in busy regions like Brussels and on lower performing hardware

Is it "https://api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/user/preferences/mapcomplete-places-history" which is loaded?

This is the cloud sync of which places you've visited last. This is limited in number of remebered items (which should result in about 4 calls)

You can disable this in the settings.

I noticed like many dozens of calls to it while Luna was editing velopark. every time she opened a new velopark node
