run vimium in insert mode by default

firstly, thanks for all the awesome work put into vimium 🙏 it's a truly awesome tool that i preach to everyone who will listen!

question:

• is it possible to configure insert mode to be the default mode for vimium? i would like vimium to be "out the way" when browsing and then i can "activate" it by pressing Esc when i want the power of vimium! 🚀

alternative solutions:

• is there a shortcut to enable/disable vimium entirely? (i use firefox and there doesn't seem to be a nice way to enable/disable extensions with a keyboard shortcut)

mitigating the problem:

• preserving the "mode" as the user navigates across pages would prevent me from hitting i on every page navigation, as mentioned here.
