PaperKit Alpha-1.0.0 Released for Testing

Welcome to the Paper Kit community! 🎓

We're excited to announce the alpha release of Paper Kit (v0.1.0) — an Agentic Academic Style Paper Writing System built on GitHub Copilot.

What's Included

This alpha release features:

How to Test

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/peternicholls/PaperKit.git
   cd PaperKit

2. Set up your environment:

   python3 -m venv .venv
   source .venv/bin/activate
   pip install -r open-agents/tools/requirements.txt

3. Start writing a paper:

   • Open GitHub Copilot Chat in VS Code
   • Select the paper-architect agent
   • Try: "Create an outline for my paper on [your topic]"

4. Explore the system:

   • Check AGENTS.md for all commands
   • See README.md for workflow overview

Known Limitations & Next Steps

This is an alpha release, so expect:

• Agents optimized for academic research papers
• Limited support for non-English languages (future enhancement)
• LaTeX output focused on research specifications

Coming in future releases:
