Flaky Inertia assertions using Pest? (Not a valid Inertia response)

I migrated to PEST from PHPUnit and it's passing >80% of the time-- occasionally, I'll get this failed test response:

PEST v2.31
Inertia-laravel v0.6.11
@inertiajs/react v1.0.14

Not a valid Inertia response.

The test looks like this:

    actingAs(User::factory()->create())
        ->get('/form')
        ->assertInertia(fn ($page) => $page
            ->has('products', 1)
            ->where('products.category.0.name', $c->name)
        );

It has always worked in PHPUnit, and there have never been any issues. I have withoutVite set in the Pest config.

Googling around there are a few people with a similar issue but with no resolution.

Any other ideas about what could be causing this non-deterministic test?
