Changable Path for the icons folder! Default apache blocks it!

HeyHo guys,

I ran into a strange error today, that never occured before.
There is a known alias from apache that blocks the use of: subdomain.yourdomain.tld/icons
Now my domain is just a subdomain and with not folder specified after.
And I wanted to use the default marker_town.png.
Now I added a POIs manuelly and everything seemed fine in the rendering process.
Afterwards I looked at the map and there were no POIs. First I thought it were are bug in the config file, but it werent. It blocks anything from the map.ethyron.net/icons folder.
I changed the icon path within the Markers-Settings to the new sub-directory images/icons/* But now I have em in the icons/* sub-directory and under images/icons/.
Because the folder icons/ als gets created when rendering the map.

I dont know if any internal function access the icons folder, if it does, it wouldnt show up for me.

So there should be an option to change the icon-path to anything you want. ^^
Since not anyone can access the alias-config from apache.

Currently we just copy the icon directory from the webassets directory to the output directory. It's unfortunate Apache's built-in thing clashes with ours, since changing the default name of the icon directory now would break configurations of users who have depended on it so far.

Making it configurable is sort-of already possible with custom web-assets, if it weren't for the fact that the original icon directory in the built-in webassets directory would still get copied over anyway, since custom web assets simply get copied over the builtin ones.

So we have a few possibilities:

1. Rename builtin directory, break compatibility
2. Add special case for icons directory, additional logic
3. Change nothing, users can specify a custom web assets directory with a renamed icons directory if they can't edit the apache config, but thus still have the builtin one copied over.

I don't like any of these; does anyone else have suggestions?

I have had this exact problem, custom web assets did a fine job dealing with it. Learning curve was a little high, but once I got my head around how it works, it just works. Once it's set, you don't have to worry.

Now you could go over to https://github.com/rymate1234/Overviewer-GUI and modify this program to control overviewer the way you want. A more user friendly interface for those of us console deficient would be nice.

To me, option 3 has/does/will continue to do the job.

Try to change the comportment of apache with a .htaccess maybe
What's the number of the http error when you try to load them ?
A classic 404 ?
