How stable is the master branch?

I want ot start build out my app, against master branch, mainly because of Device Flow support, that seems already present, but 2.4.0 is not yet released and it is unknown, when it will be released. Of course I plan to do my due diligence when updating, but maybe there is known 'bad states' that master branch is often in, or it is generally stable?

Unfortunately there are no guarantees that the master branch is always stable. Open Source releases are 1-2 times per year. If you need an always up-to-date version with all the latest features and support for a commercial use case I recommend to look into the Ory Enterprise License: https://www.ory.sh/docs/self-hosted/oel/
