Syringe pumps

Hi Everyone,

I built a pyControl compatible syringe pump setup. Up to 4 pumps can connect to a single controller, and the controller connects with pyControl through a single port.

Here's some snippets to give an idea of what the code would look like in a pyControl task:

# Instantiate syringe pump controller
from devices import PumpController, Breakout_1_2

board = Breakout_1_2()
# Pump controller should be connected to a UART port (either 1,3, or 4)
syringes = PumpController(board.port_4, "pump_msg_received")

# Adjust the syringe diameter (mm) and flow rate (mL/min)
syringes.set_diameter("l1", 26.7) # mm
syringes.set_flow_rate("l1", 100) # mL/min

# Infuse or retract pump 
syringes.left_infuse(500) # infuse 500 µL
syringes.left_infuse(-10_000) # retract 10 mL

# respond to limit switch event
if event == "pump_msg_received":
  pump_msg = syringes.read_serial()
  if "limit reached!" in pump_msg:
      stop_framework() # end task when pump is empty

There is also a color display, some buttons and knob on the controller, so you can operate the pumps manually and/or show relevant task information while an experiment is running.
